Roane Soil & Water Conservation District
The Roane Soil & Water Conservation District works in partnership with USDA's Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and the TN Department of Agriculture (TDA) to provide conservation development and proper utilization of the water and soil resources of Roane County, and for the the control and prevention of soil erosion, thereby to preserve natural resources, improve water quality, control floods, prevent impairment of dams and reservoirs, and protect and promote the health, safety, prosperity, and general welfare of the people of Roane County.
The Roane SWCD assists with available technical, financial, and educational resources and administers programs designed to encourage individual responsibility to help conserve, maintain, and improve our natural resources for future generations.
This inter-agency partnership is critical and available to help landowners through the Roane SWCD. Because Agricultural land users have an exemption from regulatory agencies, Cost-Share dollars have proven to be an effective tool for incentivizing the installation of Agricultural Practices.
