 Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP)

If you are a farmer or rancher whose operation has been directly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic,  The Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP)  provides direct relief to producers who faced price declines and additional marketing costs due to COVID-19.

The Coronavirus Food Assistance Program provides vital financial assistance to producers of agricultural commodities who have suffered a five-percent-or-greater price decline or who had losses due to market supply chain disruptions due to COVID-19 and face additional significant marketing costs.

While most Service Centers are open for business by phone appointment only, Farm Service Agency (FSA) is working with producers by phone, email, and online tools to process CFAP applications. Please call the FSA office to schedule an appointment if you would like assistance or have questions.

 Roane Soil Conservation District

The Roane Soil Conservation District works in partnership with USDA's Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and the TN Department of Agriculture (TDA) to provide conservation development and proper utilization of the water and soil resources of Roane County, and for the the control and prevention of soil erosion, thereby to preserve natural resources, improve water quality, control floods, prevent impairment of dams and reservoirs, and protect and promote the health, safety, prosperity, and general welfare of the people of Roane County.

The Roane Soil Conservation District assists with available technical, financial, and educational resources and administers programs designed to encourage individual responsibility to help conserve, maintain, and improve our natural resources for future generations.

This inter-agency partnership is critical and available to help landowners through the Roane Soil Conservation District. Because Agricultural land users have an exemption from regulatory agencies, Cost-Share dollars have proven to be an effective tool for incentivizing the installation of Agricultural Practices.
